If you’ve heard us talk about fixed axle yoyos and/or our Kot-n string, I’m sure you’ve heard us mention our tendency to use a swipe of bee balm at the end of our string, where the loop hugs the axle. Why? Well, because it’s nice! It adds a certain smoothness to a gritty axle or can add just the right amount of snapback when a fixie is not quite responding as predictably as you’d like. We find that it also aids in reducing the break-in period between at fresh cotton string and brand new axle, so you can get on with honeymooning as soon as humanly possible.

We’ve found that Portland Bee Balm is the absolute best product for this yoyo hack. And when you’re not using it on your string/axle setup, you can treat your lips to some high quality, all natural, moisture and protection. We absolutely LOVE this balm and can’t speak highly enough!!! What’s more? We love the company and love what they stand for; they’re family people, just like us; they live their passions and we love supporting small business <3

::::: About Portland Bee Balm :::::

As active participants of the world we live in we strive to create meaningful, useful products that are genuinely natural, add value to people’s lives, and help bring awareness of our role in the natural environment. With a focus on creating a simple and pure product, we make Portland Bee Balm with beeswax from Pacific Northwest hives, adding a select handful of carefully sourced organic and local ingredients. Then we wrap the balms in real wood instead of processed paper and present them in lovingly handcrafted reusable or recyclable displays.

From the ingredients we source, to the packaging we use, to our interactions with customers, we work to be a business that supports the health and well-being of the environment, our community, and of course, bees and their keepers.
