::::: BACKSTORY / PRODUCT DESCRIPTION :::::

The original AL6 Honey Badger yoyo was collaboration between Jeremy Park of ZipLine Strings, and Justin Bui of Unspoken Yoyos, which originally released on 04/05/19. Since then we have released 3 other iterations, including a rerelease of the original HB design in 2021, but you'll find that the 2023 version is a completely leveled up beast!

After working with Jorge Contreras (Zero Gravity Return Tops) on various yoyo related projects since 2020, we got to talking about doing some redesign work on the original Honey Badger. Jorge was open to the challenge and we worked together through dozens of revisions, and after several months of back and forth we landed on an AL7 design that was ready for prototyping. It turned out absolutely AMAZING - so much so that we did a small release of the prototypes back in July, and they...were...LOVED!!! Since then we've made a very minor aesthetic revision to the inner cup (just a visual refinement), but the overall design remained intact.

:::::: Brief overview of the HB revisions ::::::

We really wanted to keep much of the same visual aesthetic of the original while enhancing the performance and comfort. You'll find this new version to be much more athletic on the string and pleasing on the catch. We've changed the aluminum from 6061 to 7068, thus allowing us to go a bit thinner, a bit larger, and distribute the weight in a more athletic direction. It has a slightly larger diameter and width, a wider/more scooped catch zone, which slightly transforms the previous W shape into having more of an H shape essence. We were able to achieve all of these enhancements while keeping slightly below the original weight, so the overall HB23 experience feels lighter, faster, while at the same time being more powerful and more capable than any of the previous Honey Badger releases.
