Stranger Strings CS124

We started our Stranger Strings Series as a way of experimenting with new ideas, and anytime we come across something really cool, we often make small batches along the way - giving you a chance to try them as well. We release them under the term "Case Study" and number them sequentially: CS#01, CS#02, etc.. If you can believe it, we've actually made our way up to CS#124!!!

Introducing our latest Case Study, No.124

We've been back in the lab, cooking up something fresh. After the recent release of FLUFF (cloud-like, fluffy spun nylon), and after Ed Haponik dubbed Fluff as being "the best string ever made for modern responsive play", we wanted to experiment with tayloring it even more towards a wider variety of modern responsive yoyoing. After lots of tweaking and testing, we decided to make a good amount available for you to try at a super friendly pice :)

What makes CS124 different from FLUFF?

1) It has a tighter twist torsion, by comparison, which helps with preventing premature snap-backs when playing modern responsive throws that are designed with tighter gaps. And these strings aren't necessarily tight, by any means, but the twist is noticeably less laid back than with FLUFF.

2) The build method has been tweaked to help with holding better string tension and keep the string feeling a bit more compact and less fluffy.

3) The length is more appropriate for modern responsive play. FLUFF has an unstretched string length of around 51" and maxes out at about 60" fully stretched. CS124 has a much more "responsive" appropriate starting length of 47" unstretched, and it maxes out at 55" fully stretched. We feel that this prevents a whole lot of unnecessary waste from going into landfills (less length to snip off after tying your loop).

A) for those who love our FLUFF blend but would like to try an experimental version, which may be more suitable for modern responsive yoyos with tighter gaps and/or play styles that might benefit from a bit tighter string twist.

A) for those who don't mind our former 47" string length standard, trying to prevent unnecessary waste whenever possible, and like saving money too!
