Ever since we started working with Airetic’s nylon thread, it’s really enabled us to explore some exciting possibilities - creating new hybrid blends that can surpass earlier formulas. The earliest experimental version of this string first came into the public eye as CS122 and has since been fine tuned into what we are now officially rebranding as Polyesque.

Polyesque is a term we began tossing around during the creation of our first poly/nylon hybrid, Smoothie Edition. While this blend is predominantly made from our most premium polyester thread, it can’t quite be labeled as “poly” since we enhance the string with about 30% plush nylon - hence adding the suffix, “esque” to the name. Similar to Smoothie Edition, we use a multi-stage twist method, which helps strengthen the string while adding a smoother feel on the fingers.

The Polyesque string build is very reminiscent to our well loved Smoothie Edition, CS50 and CS118, but what makes it different? First of all, we’ve moved from using our original plush nylon additive - replacing it with a comparable amount of our updated Airetic plush nylon, which has proven to be way more consistent and smoother when blending with polyester. Secondly, we’ve refined our twist method to promote a better, more sporty tension, and we’ve increased the resting length by about 3-4 inches, bringing it from 47-48” to 50-51”. They have a medium to fast whip speed and a hold a nice slack shape.

The Polyesque blend is great for lovers of polyester strings but still want to treat themselves to something a bit more special - something that doesn’t feel factory made and is handled with great care and complex precision. These strike a great balance between performance, visibility and comfort, and we believe that you’ll really enjoy them :)

• Production of our Smoothie Edition, CS50, and CS118 blends are officially discontinued. While there’s still original Smoothie Edition stock still available, they will eventually be recreated with the new Polyesque formula after their stock is depleted.
