Our newly updated version of Smoothie Edition utilizes our latest Polyesque formula, which is our most advanced multi-material poly/nylon blend. The improvements include: increased string length, updated plush nylon additive, and improved twist torsion (a bit tighter than the original). Release Date: (01/03/25) 6pm MT.

Created for yoyo enthusiasts who prefer the feel of polyester strings but would still love to elevate their boutique throwing experience with a touch of what plush nylon can offer. Polyesque is the official/final version of Case Study, No.122 (aka CS122), which is a hybrid 70/30 blend of premium ZipLine polyester enhanced with Airetic nylon material.

These strike a good balance between performance and comfort, and they’re incredibly pleasing on the eyes. Our Polyesque formula is derived from our original Smoothie Edition blend, which are made using a technique that requires multiple stages of twists in order to achieve an improved distribution of materials (when blending multiple thread types). This technique, combined with a careful blend ratio (poly-to-nylon) allows the string to have a smoother, more elegant poly feel, while also improving overall strength, slack shape, and whip speed.

This incredible blend is the result of the seven plus years we’ve been at it - discovering new materials and experimenting with advanced string making techniques. We’ve developed new tastes and substituted our previous plush nylon supplement with our newly acquired Airetic nylon. We’ve also evolved our multi-stage twist methodology and have increased the resting string length from 47” to 50,” bringing you something truly special.

Thoughts from Jeremy: "When the Smoothie’s first came into existence, they were somewhat of a crowd fueled project. We released tons of prototype versions for testing and launched several contests for string naming and graphic design. We absolutely love how it all came out, and now we’re exited to bring you this improved version, which utilizes our latest Polyesque formula!"
